We don’t often run programs in the summer, but we are so enamoured with this 150km trip along the Skeena River from Terrace to the Cassiar Cannery, we squeezed one Skeena Adventure in.
We will meet at the Terrace VIA Rail station at 8:00am. You will leave your vehicles and get shuttled to the boat launch to begin your day on the water.
Tides and time dictate where we end up during the day but expect to head up one of the magnificent tributaries of the Skeena River – like the Kasiks or the Exchamsiks. You will have a picnic lunch on a gravel bar.
As we get into the Lower Skeena region and the Skeena Estuary, there are many remnants of historic canneries and settlements to explore and a natural hot springs. Some are high tide attractions and some are low tide.
Your expert guides are very knowledgeable about the local history and very experienced jet boat operators. They are able to adapt to the interests of the guests and deliver an unparalleled, very safe experience.
You will be dropped at the Cassiar Cannery around 5:30pm, in time to freshen up for your fine-dining, four course meal before enjoying a good night’s sleep in our acclaimed Guest Houses.
After Chef Nadia’s infamous benny breakfast, VIA Rail will pick you up here at 8:30am for a scenic two hour rails trip along the Skeena back to your vehicle in Terrace.
