Shades of gold in the foliage, slanted rays of sunshine, morning mists along the water, fall is a beautiful time of year on the North Coast and a spectacular time of year on the Skeena River.
The Skeena Adventure begins at 8am at the Terrace VIA Rail Station. You will be shuttled to the jet boats and your luggage transferred to the Cassiar Cannery.
It’s about 150km to travel along the Skeena River from Terrace to the Cassiar Cannery in the Skeena estuary – where the river meets the ocean. 150km of spectacular wilderness scenery, it’s an area rich in local and cultural history and biodiversity.
Along the way, there are many interesting historical settlements to explore and depending on tides and time, a soak in the hotsprings could be the final destination.
Arriving at the Cassiar Cannery, you will have time to freshen up before enjoying a four course dinner and spending the night in one of our Guest Houses.
Sunday morning, we will have Chef Nadia’s famous bennies before boarding VIA Rail for a scenic rail trip to Terrace.
This is a great trip for photographers and people who like to explore interesting, harder to reach places with likeminded people.
Make a weekend out of it! We recommend spending Friday night at the Yellow Cedar Lodge just outside of Terrace.
