Canadian wandering minstrel, Michael Averill, will be making a stop in Prince Rupert at Cowpuccino’s on July 19th.
He will be leading a jamming workshop, 7-8pm (open to all levels, instruments, and ages), and will cap off the evening with an acoustic performance (8:30pm) of songs written from his latest album, “All We Ever Need.” Listen here: https://michaelaverill.bandcamp.com/
Jam Workshop/Jam Description:
Having a great jam is the same as having a great conversation – it’s a balance of listening, sharing ideas, cooperation, and having an open mind.
This fun and practical workshop will focus on how to lead and support others in a jam, and will introduce new tools and tricks that will help any jammer strengthen their jam game!
All genres/styles welcomed.
WHAT TO BRING: An instrument (anything, even if it is a knife and fork :). Vocalists and poets are welcome too!)
Cost: Pass the hat contribution/Pay what you feel is fair.
*Come early (6:45pm) to get tuned up and organized)
Michael has been walking through Canada since 2013 with a project called I’d Rather Walk. It’s a project centered around walking, getting to know Canada, people, and connection.
