Event Details

The North Pacific Cannery is excited to host the first annual Intertidal Music Festival! The full-day festival is set for July 15th and will draw community members, First Nations, visitors and artists from across the province to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary and 150 years of salmon canning in British Columbia at the National Historic Site. With these two sesquicentennial events in 2017, North Pacific Cannery is the ideal location to commemorate these monumental anniversaries and give reason to celebrate the North Coast community’s rich heritage like never before!
The Intertidal Music Festival will introduce over a dozen bands and artists from the region and the Lower Mainland on two large stages, plus one smaller, more intimate, site venue, sharing their performances with an anticipated over 1,000 guests.

We are thrilled to be joined by these talented artists:
The Racket
Woodshed Supply Company
The Surfin Dudes
Just Showed Up
Sarah & Frances & Friends
Men Who Listen
Simbiyez Wilson
The Brazen Harlots
Hot Flash
Chris Williams
Noel Lenaghan
Music Works Kids Junior Rock Band

Come check out the Cannery Café’s regionally famous menu and enjoy three of Prince Rupert’s finest food trucks! Local, award winning Wheelhouse Brewery will be introducing its Canada-150 Red Ale (available every 150 years) at the event, while numerous prizes and exciting giveaways will also be raffled to fortunate festival-goers.
Purchase tickets for you and your family here! Kids can enjoy this festival for free and seniors over 65 can enter by donation! All proceeds will contribute to the North Pacific Cannery. The family pass rate includes 2 adults and 2 youth! If you have an additional youth ticket to add to your family pass, please register separately.
Don’t forget to print out your tickets! Tickets will be required for entry.

We will have 3 busses running loops to/from the Cannery and the Civic Centre from 10am – 10pm. This will equate to a bus pick-up/drop off at both locations every 20 minutes. Please note there will be no parking at the Cannery on July 15. We will have shuttle busses available from Port Edward throughout the day.
