Hear from Dr. Kevin Hanna on what the new Liberal Government means for Environmental Assessment in Canada, and potential implications for Oil and Gas development in the North Coast.

Dr. Kevin Hanna is the Director of the UBC Centre for Environmental Assessment (EA) Research, focusing on integrated approaches to natural resource management, environmental assessment and cumulative effects assessment. Dr. Hanna will provide insight based on his expertise in environmental assessment and familiarity with the Liberal platform.

Hear from Peter Nagati on the Auditor-General’s report “Managing the Cumulative Effects of Natural Resource Development in B.C.”

Cumulative effects are the combined effects of past, present and future foreseeable activities. The B.C. Auditor General’s office recently reported that cumulative effects have not been adequately addressed in recent natural resource use decisions in northwest B.C. Peter Nagati, Director of Performance Audit at the Auditor-General’s Office, will present key findings and recommendations from this report.
