Introducing road safety tools and resources for your workplace
Attend a no-charge, 3.5 hour workshop to improve the safety of your employees who drive for work.
Wednesday, December 7, 2016
222 1st Ave West
Prince Rupert, BC V8J 1A8
8:30 am – 12:00 pm
We are a not-for-profit, government funded initiative managed by the Justice Institute of BC with a mandate to decrease motor vehicle associated deaths and injuries. Our workshop is geared toward assisting organizations with increasing safety in their workplaces by developing or improving an occupational road safety program.
Occupational road safety does not just apply to organizations with commercial fleets, but any organization that has employees driving a company vehicle or their personal vehicle during their work day. Generally organizations will send a Safety Manager or Supervisor to attend.
This interactive session will help participants to implement or improve a road safety program that fits their organization. Participants learn about the human and financial costs of motor vehicle incidents, and apply hazard identification/risk assessment procedures to prioritize road safety issues. They will use Road Safety At Work tools and resources to develop action plans aimed at preventing workplace vehicle crashes.
Lunch & Learn
Workshop attendees are invited to stay for a complimentary winter driving safety Lunch & Learn following the formal workshop (12:15 to 1:30). Offered in cooperation with Kal Tire, this information-packed lunch provides the latest on winter tire use and winter driving safety tips to help you and your employees who drive for work prepare for the season ahead.
Who Should Attend
The workshop is for owners, managers, supervisors, health and safety practitioners, Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee members and others who have responsibility for making decisions and developing programs to keep employees safe on BC roads.
You are encouraged to send one or two representatives from your organization. To help you develop and improve your road safety program, we will provide each organization with three hours of follow-up consultation with one of our road safety specialists.
